Chess in Schools

Chess in Schools

For the past 15 years, we have specialized in starting and maintaining chess clubs at Private, Charter and Public schools. Classes are taught weekly by a professional instructor and are usually 1 hour in length. Many clubs begin with the basic level and slowly grow as students gain knowledge and more students decide to join. We strive to strike a balance between making our chess classes fun where students enrich their knowledge of chess while enjoying the experience. Once students are ready, they can start participating in chess competitions and tournaments. We work with each school to tailor a chess club that best fits their needs.

Times: After school, “0” period or lunchtime sessions available.
Class Duration: 1 hour, 1.5 hour and 2 hour sessions available.
Session Duration: Sessions can be scheduled on an 8-week, trimester or semester basis.
Cost: We work with each school to make chess lessons available to and affordable by their students.

Did you know?

Chess is the world’s most popular game and is quickly expanding into every aspect of our everyday life. Many schools in the U.S. and across the globe have chess clubs and several countries have integrated chess into their curriculum. Although there are dozens of reasons to play chess, some of the most important are learning to solve problems, abstract reasoning, remaining calm under pressure, patience, sportsmanship, pattern recognition, strategic and creative thinking. In this hyper-competitive world, learning and mastering these skills puts chess players at a definite advantage.
